What is Banao: Elite Banana?

Elite Banana is a Japanese banana icon with anthropomorphic facial features published by the Banpresto gaming company.^[1][2] Ranging from a wide variety of facial expressions and personality traits, the Elite Banana toy franchise has become a recently accepted fashion accessory among Japanese popular culture. While many are able to find this lifelike banana dangling from a key chain or printed on a notebook, Elite Bananas are not characters in a television show or even a comic book series. They are simply toy icons that some people find relatable to individual facets of their personality. For example, one Elite Banana wears a tie, holds a cellphone, and sweats nervously as if it is under stress. Another is rosy-cheeked and wears a tuxedo as if it is having a good time.
